Dr. Javi Benavente Paredes joined the lab in Fall 2022 after completing her PhD in Auckland, NZ. She focused on understanding the genetic structure of tapeworm parasites in Alaska and Canada, as well as participating in projects to understand how stickleback evolve to tolerate or resist tapeworm infections. She left the lab at the end of 2023 to pursue other projects in ecological genetics.
