Bryce joined the lab in Fall 2018 as one of the first group of parasite wranglers. Initially he collected and bred fish and tapeworms from locations around Anchorage. Bryce honed his molecular and robotics skillsets making DNA sequencing libraries from tapeworms he collected, as well as worms collected by other researchers from the Pacific Northwest. Bryce graduated from his MS program at UW-Madison in Spring 2023, with his thesis on morphological variation across populations of cestodes. He is currently working at the Gene Conservation Lab with the Alaska Department of Fish and Game.
