Cole was a postdoc in the lab from fall 2022 to fall 2025. He performed experiments looking at variation in the stickleback microbiome and the genetics of host-parasite coevolution. He completed his doctorate at the University of Montana in Missoula where he studied high altitude adaptation and variation in body composition in deer mice.
